Fellow typographic comrade Alexei Vanyashin is visiting Berlin and offered to share with us his talk titled “Why do we (still) use Cyrillic?”. As seen at the TypoLublin conference a few days ago, this impromptu talk will enlighten you about modern Cyrillic and it’s continuing importance.
SEGD will host events in four European capitals: Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Lisbon.
In each city, SEGD is partnering with designers and national and local design organizations. Local guest speakers will present current projects while event co-chairs Alexandra Wood, Holmes Wood (London) and David Gibson, Two Twelve (New York) will introduce attendees to environmental graphic design, SEGD, the SEGD Design Awards, and current work in the field.
Guest speakers include: Helmut Ness of Fuenfwerken Design AG will show ‘TypeWalks through Berlin’. Dietmar Mühr and Oliver Mühr of PLEX will talk about ‘Spacial Branding: Designing Brand Spaces for Volkswagen’
